FIRST® Robotics

FRC® Team 900 —The Zebracorns— is a robotics team which competes in the FIRST® Robotics Competition(FRC). FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international organization which strives to inspire students to work with technology and the sciences. FIRST has created four competitions for students to learn, compete in, and show off their skills. These competitions create opportunities for students to learn from each other, develop friendships, and make connections with industry professionals.

The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting Mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. FIRST Mission Statement

FRC is geared towards high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This competition works with the largest robots and caters to more than 3,000 teams worldwide. The program offers an opportunity for student teams to form partnerships with community mentors. Students learn about Gracious Professionalism® as they cooperate and compete with others.
